First day of "boat school"

Yup! Yesterday was the first day of boat school.  Our daughter is in 7th grade and our son in 5th grade. They have yet to complain that we had them go to their land-based schools for a few weeks before starting over with the home school curriculum.  I think that might be because they had the chance to see their friends every day.  

It will take a few days before we get into the "groove", but so far, I like the curriculum.  They liked the fact that when they're done with lessons for the day, they're done.  No homework per se. I like that fact that along with a standard set of subjects, they both get a dose of art history. 

We're spending this week getting used to the curriculum and having a parent as a teacher.  We're still at the marina so only one change at a time.

Today and yesterday, Dave's project is solar panel installation so we can re-charge the batteries without running the motor.
