And his flier won me over, too. What little boy wouldn't be happy with a fresh baguette? "El Horno Frances" means The French Oven.

By the way, we are in the sole marina in Barra de la Navidad - one of the southern-most coastal towns in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is raining cats and dogs and unfortunately, a few mosquitos have taken refuge in the cabin of our boat. We are trying to stamp them out now. So perhaps I have to retract the Paradise comment.
FOR YOU BIRD WATCHERS....
I would appreciate some help in identifying this bright fellow. According to the Peterson's Guide to Birds app that we have, he looks a lot like a "Great Kiskadee", but the habitat, as listed in the app, is on the east coast of Mexico. The bird we've seen has only been in Nuevo Vallarta and thrives in the mangroves. Also, unlike the bird in Peterson's Guide, it does not have a yellow patch on its crown. I love seeing these in flight as the underside of their wings is a burnt orange that lights up against the yellow body. They make a kree-kree sound.

You could have stolen this pic from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_kiskadee. With global warming hard upon us, bird species distribution charts are going the way of the, er, birds. It does indeed seem you have one of these critters.
