The Hills are Alive!

I feel so fortunate to be up in the mountains while the wildflowers are blooming.  The kids and I hiked to the rock formation above camp the other day and were nearly overwhelmed by the wildflowers' scent.

While not wildflowers, these brilliant mushrooms caught our eye.  We've never seen them before and they seem plentiful. <<<Aug. 11, 2015 update:  These ARE NOT MUSHROOMS.  They are called "Snow Flowers" and are one of a handful of plants that do not contain chlorophyll.  Thanks to "Jay" for pointing this out to me.>>>

Such delicate, tiny flowers!

Not much snow pack, but a beautiful view nonetheless.

View of the lake from the rock formations.  That tiny boat contains Dave.  We raced down the trail to join him so we could help.

Sunset the other day.  We've been using that rowboat and a swim platform to haul debris from the shower house out of camp.

Home sweet home - we are staying in the staff house...

The kids are keeping their gear in their own tents for improved organization.  See the downed trees in the background? There are plenty of those for Dave to tackle with a chainsaw.  One of his favorite activities at camp.
