Saturday was wet and rainy - it even hailed! I sat in one of the shower houses for a while watching for leaks and placed 10 #10 cans under all the drops. Another task for the list - caulk the holes in the tin roof. The kids, especially our son, had fun playing in the water. Later in the day, Dave built a fire in the staff house so folks could dry off. Our daughter found a forked stick and stuck a wet sock on each tine so as to dry them by the fire. Thankfully, they weren't stinky....
Sunday, we slept in, dried out the tents and in general rested. Early in the day, we saw a mama golden manteled ground squirrel carry 3 babies to a drier nesting spot. We spent a good part of the day watching the babies scramble in and out of the hole.
The kids made up games to play with the water they'd collected in buckets and when the water was gone, went swimming.
We ended the day with a campfire and s'mores.
